Well, I finally finished it: the fight sequence animation for Reptile Guard! Isn't it awesome? I mean, all the fight sequences before have been quick, poorly portrayed, of little artistic merit, and have taken forever to produce. Now the fight sequence is quick, poorly portrayed, of little artistic merit, but slightly quicker to produce! Isn't that exciting and cool? I actually did save time by doing it this way. Think about it: drawing a fight sequence that long in comic form like I have in the past would have taken at least 10 comics to complete. And at one comic a week, that would have been a longer wait for the fight sequence to be over, and a longer wait for the story to continue. 'Cause that's the real bread and butter of my comic, right? The gripping story? Right? Exactly. So now I can focus on getting back to the roots of my comic and drawing it like I always have until the end of the chapter. But with all this digital art I've been doing, I've become pretty darn handy at using flash to create art. The end of the chapter might bring about the end of pencil and paper for this comic. We'll have to wait and see. Well, that's enough of a cryptic but bluntly obvious update for now. I came home for the weekend to get my car smog repaired, only to find out that it'll be kinda expensive, only to find out that I can get the government to pay for a good 2/3 of that expense, only to find out that I need to fill out an application and get approved before I get any repairs done. So I gotta do that. Another interesting point in the life of the artist is that we had a third roommate move in, filling the space left by our previous roommate at the beginning of Winter Quarter. *sigh* It's only 4 1/2 more weeks, I know. But there are stories already. Stories already.... Ok, that's all. I gotta make a Mother's Day card to go along with my awesome-tastical gift. Enjoy the animation. |
