WE DID IT! The Bruins beat the Trojans! Oh my goodness, I wish everyone in the world was at the Rose Bowl for that game so that they could feel the intensity and joy that filled that stadium on Saturday. When Eric McNeal caught that interception after deflecting it, everyone exploded in high-fiving and hugging and crying and it was so great. At the end of the game, some students got maced trying to rush the field, and I saw that our 6th year T.A. had red puffy watery eyes, and I asked, "aw, did you get maced?" And he responded, "No, I've just been crying this whole time." That's how emotionally charged everyone was about this game. It means that we defeated the team we hate most in the nation, it means they can't go to the national championship, it means we still have the longest winning streak between the two schools, it means they have nothing else they can beat us in (basketball, anyone?). It means so much to anyone who has been, is, or will be a Bruin. But school spirit aside, I was able to make this comic in time, despite some serrious Katamari Damacy, a floor holiday party, and all the celebrating of the SC victory. I think it came out well, especially the blushing. I like how it came across. Now to get working on the next mini. So, in other comic news, I'm thinking of adding one more advertisement to my comic. The Google Ads just aren't generating enough revenue ('cause no one clicks on the ads), and so I need to sell out a little more if I want to make this webcomic commercially successful. It's not that I do this webcomic to make money, far from it. I do this webcomic completely for fun, and if I don't make any money, then at least I brought a smile to a couple people's lives. But I would like a little extra cash every now and again, and selling advertising space is a way of getting money without very much effort. If you have any serrious aversions to me adding another ad, let me know in an e-mail, and if enough people think it's a horrible idea, then I will rethink my strategy. But I think the page layout could survive with a banner ad between the navigation buttons and the news section. Oh, that's the other thing: I would probably add the ad to every comic page, in an effort to get more hits for it and consequentially, more money. Again, if you think I'm out of my mind, let me know. Cya next week (unless you read my mini's, then see you Friday). |
