New News

Well, the Aquacadet Summit (the reason I didn't post a comic last week) was so freaking amazing. It was a weekend trip for me, 'cause I left Friday afternoon to go down to San Diego for the concert at the House of Blues. It was a great Concert. The Phenomenauts and SuperNova (the real SuperNova) played as warm up bands, and they were awesome. The Bats were great, as always, and they played "Martian Girl" and "Captain Hampton and the Midget Pirates," both of which I hadn't heard live.

Then Summit was great. There were Cadet Olympics, Donuts, a huge card I made, cool cups, some free shirts, Cadet Awards, a signed ninja flag, and they played all of the songs from The Return of the Aquabats, their first CD. Anyway, I could go on more about it all, but people who don't know the Aquabats wouldn't get it, and if you do know the Aquabats, you were probably there. So enough about that.

What is MORE exciting in regards to the comic is that I recently got a UC-Logic SuperPen 6x8 graphix tablet. For those of you who don't know what that is, it's a tablet that I can draw on that plugs into the computer. So whatever I draw shows up right on the screen! It's so exciting for me because it opens up so many more options for me for my art. I've already started on a very ambitious Flash project that will probably take a while, but will be very cool once it's done. Once I finish that, I'll post it on this site for sure, but I'll also post it on Newgrounds (if it's under 5mb).

But what it also allows me to do is make very fast, quick little comics and publish them in flash! You can check out what these look like here. It took me a little while to get the hang of it, because I thought I would just draw the images in Flash and then export them and put it together like a normal comic. But then I came upon the realization that I could just publish it in flash, have it act like a slide show, and then it would all fit in a relatively small window. Amazing, huh? I'll finalize when I make them and how I make them later, I just wanted people to see what they looked like and get excited.

So that's all. I got to get back to that ambitious flash project I was talking about. Catch you all on the flip side.
